About Us: a peek inside the banquet

We're just obsessive enough about talent to make us dangerous.

Our company has been built on a longterm friendship between two entertainment-obsessed individuals: Mark Steiner, president of Steiner Talent and Steve Tetrault, president of Tetrault Design Associates, who met while living in New York City. Mark has been in the entertainment business for over 2 decades and Steve's company provides design for a client base which includes critically-acclaimed artists and musicians.

How We Started
It all began when we were scouring the web looking for a decent place to find local talent. After relentless searches, and concluded that there simply wasn’t a talent directory on the web that was affordable to performers, attractive to the eye, easy to use, and fair for everyone. This, of course, brought us to an obvious conclusion: to create something that out-valued, out-shined and out-weighed them all. We decided from the beginning that whatever we created we would never hard-sell, we would never be impossible to contact, and we'd never charge more than we should for membership fees.

In 2005, GigSalad.com was born. As work on Gig Salad began we had a one-page website offering "Lifetime Memberships" in our pre-launch phase in order to help fund the development of the site. It was exciting to see that so many people believed in us and in our concept and signed on before we even started. From that point on, we've been in love with our members.

Swift and Steady Growth
From Gig Salad grew Talent Salad, which is now our parent company, located in Springfield, MO. The same Salad seeds sprouted Book The Best, Gig Soup, our satellite sites, and provided an obvious home to Steiner Talent, Mark's already successful talent agency. We strongly believe that talent booking and promotion will be optimized by utilizing and harnessing the power of the technology the internet offers. Gig Salad has gone through many versions, overhauls and upgrades during our short history because we are obsessive about our product and work hard to give the best of everything to our members. This means that we continually have grand plans in the works that will give much more to our members, without costing them extra.

In 2007 we threw our roots down in Springfield, Missouri by purchasing a building to serve as the headquarters for Gig Salad, directly across from City Hall.
